I've known it for a long time. I don't remember where I first heard it. I found this just a second ago on a website "mary-kate and ashley olsen aren't identical. Mary-kate and ashley olsen are what is called fraternal twins, so not everything about them is a mirror image."

Well since this conversation is over a year old who knows if any of you even look it over anymore but figured i'd comment anyways. ;) my cousins are fraternal twins, girls, and when we were little I looked them over from head to toe trying to find differences. The only thing I ever discovered is one has a mole on one of her arms and the other doesn't. Other than that they look very much the same! :)

just throwing in my 2 cents.
My frat twin girls are almost sixteen and with one blue eyed and one brown eyed, obviously not identical.

My 11 y/o sisters are fraternal. They look nothing alike, one's really short one's tall. One was born vaginally one from c-section. I've always wondered why they look so different!

they are fraternal twins, I remember hearing that too--my daughter and son--if they were same sex they would look almost identical--they look like twins, pple ask us all the time if they are.

I have heard of fraternal twins who have been fathered by 2 different dads even!! Talk about looking nothing alike! Huh?

Yes it is very common to have fraternal twins of the same sex

I know this is about fraternal twins, but i`d just like to say my 9 month old twins are identical but they have there differences also. One was weighed this week at 20lbs 8oz and the other was 21lbs 8ozs.
Some people other than myself can tell the difference also as one has a bigger head (physically, not in an ego sense!) than the other.

Frat Twins
It is possible to have frat twins of the same sex. I have frat twin boys. They are beautiful yet they look totally different. One baby has straighter hair and darker and the other baby hair is curly and he is light complexion.

Okay so how can you have twins from two different men??? As far as I have heard this is impossible!!! Somebody give me an article or a scientific study where this happened, please. I am confused.

U can have frat twins from two different men when u sleep with two men in a close period of time when u have released two eggs. That means that one guy fertilizes one egg and the other fertilizes the other egg... Then if both attach, u get fraternal twins, from two different men.
