late period first month on pill Posted: 01-21-08 07:20am
ive been on the pills for 3 weeks now im
on a 28 pack just finised the pink ones on
the 19th and now on the green ones, and i
should be on my period right now mind you
my period normally only lasts about 5
days. is it normal to be late on your
first time taking the pills or can you
miss it completely. I did have unprotected
sex about two weeks after i started taking
the pills, i guess im just worried about
getting pregnant, so any words of wisdom
from the wise would be awesome and greatly
appreciated thank you!

I do have some words of wisdom =)
I am a health professional that deals with
BC.
Almost all women do not have their period
until 3-4 days into the PERIOD WEEK.
The pill TAKES OVER your cycle, so it no
longer matters about what used to happen,
you are now on a new schedule!
When you are on the pill, your period can
start ANYTIME during the 7 DAY period
week, and that is 100% normal!
You still start a new pack after you are
done with the old pack, NO MATTER WHAT.

thank you very much, i was panicking for a
minute. also since it had already been two
weeks since i was taking the pills
consistently i was protected against
pregnancy right? like my body had already
adjusted to the pills?

You are protected from pregnancy after 7
days on the pill, so you were definitely
protected at 2 weeks.

Lol. This is the exact same reason I came
to these forums!! I was used to getting my
period on day 1 from when I took them as a
teen once, but when I took them as an
adult, I didn't get my period until day
three. As the months went by, I actually
ended up not getting it until day 4 - it
CAN change even while you're on the pills.
