Awww. Fat cats can be hilarious. Feeny
(tabby) is getting pretty fat, especially
for only JUST turning one.
When we first got Taco (ragdoll) he
couldn't fit in the litter box because he
couldn't get his little body up over the
edge so I had to run out and buy a new
one. He is so small that he still
struggles getting up on the couch so he
claws at it and falls over and sits and
meows until you pick him up so he can romp
around on it.

that is so funny, my cats are 12 so they
got fat with age. Actually, the really fat
one is differtn his stomach is as hard as
a rock. My mom thinks it is because he
likes to eat strings and thinga like that.

Be careful with strings. They can get
wrapped up in the stomach and/or intestine
and cause huge problems (emergency
expensive vet visit, ahhh). My grandma's
kitty got a string wrapped around his
belly from swallowing it and almost died.
It was really scary!!!

we try everything to keep them away from
him, he always finds them no matter where
we hid them or he just finds somehting
else to eat, we have tried everything to
make him stop.

Poor Taco got sick to his belly
(diarrhea). Since he is still so small he
had a rough time covering it up in his box
and stepped in it...flung it on
himself...and many other things. He
needed a bath.
He looks so sad/mad!! I felt terrible.
Afterwards he was cold and shaking so I
made a tent out of the heating pad on low
and he snuggled under it like a blanket on
my chest. After he was fully dry, he was
still all snuggly and sleepy on me.
Poor precious boy. He feels much better
now thankfully.

that is so cute. My cats (like every other
cats) hate water, but onlyu if they are
forced into it. i swear one of them looks
like she is going to have a heart attack
everytime I try to give her a bath. She
cries so loud and hisses and tries to run
away. That same cat used to actually get
in the shower with me when she was
younger, she would drink the water but she
didnt care about getting wet

That's adorable..
One of my kittens almost a cat she's not 1
yet loves it when we get ice from the ice
maker. Whenever we put the glass to the
get ice to come out she hears it and comes
running sliding on the floor. WE can push
the lever and have crushed ice fall all
over and she is in heaven. Chasing it all
over the place all the while she is
covered in little pieces that dripped out.
Now she is stretching up to reach the
lever herself!!! One of these nights we
are going to wake up to the sound of the
ice spitting out all over.
They also love drinking water right out
the faucet, it's hilarius. Her brother is
just as cute.
He likes to play with a plastic ball, we
throw it and he hits across the room, then
chases it picks it in his mouth and drops
it near us to do this routine over and
over until one of tires out.

does anyone know any Westie breeders?
Maybe specifically around the michigan
area (or at least not across the country
from there) I want to get one this summer
but i cannot find a good breeder to get
one from.
Or what other kinds of dogs are good for a
college student? Not too big of a dog.

Hot Spots and Misc. Skin issues! Posted: 04-22-08 17:37pm
Do any of your furbabies have hot spots,
skin allergies, or other skin problems?
Our springer, Daisy has never had any
problems, but Boudreaux, our rottie mix,
has servere problems that come and go.
When we first found him (about a year ago)
he was bald from the waist down, we
assumed due to fleas. After a bath, flea
treatments, however the problem seemed to
go away. Then about a month later we
noticed a lot of itching and biting on the
rump area, took him to the vet who said
minor allergies, gave him a cortisone
shot, and after a day once again he was
fine. Well we have been going through this
cycle about once every 2 months. He's fine
for a while and then he will start itching
and biting to the point of breaking the
skin, go to the vet and get another shot,
but it never last. He also treat him with
Benadryl, and hydrocortisone cream. I feel
som bad for him and hate to continue
subjecting him to shots, so do y'all have
any suggestions?

Forgot to mention the following.....he's
on Nutro Natural choice, we also give him
carrot sticks, brown rice, occasional
cheese, and of course he will get a table
scrap every once in a while, however when
he have tried altering his diet it made no
difference in his skin problems. He also
goes to the groomer for a bath and
conditioning treatment every two weeks,
and I wash his bedding once a week. I
consider my house to be pretty clean, we
have hardwood which is swept and mopped
once a week, and the rugs I do have down
are vacumed once a week. Thanks so much
for any suggestions!

I do not know if they make this for cats,
but my dachshund had the same exact thing.
I felt so sorry for her. She would
scratch and bite continually, until
sometimes she would bleed. I found an all
natural food "Nutro Ultra". It is GREAT!
After a couple of days, no more biting
and scratching. It took a couple of weeks
before her coat started looking better.
She has been on this food approximatley 3
months now and her coat is shiny and she
looks very healthy, and we all sleep
better! lol She would keep us up,
scratching all night. Hopefully, they
make a cat food similar to this - it has
been great for us. We also have a 17 year
old dachshund, who had to be put on
prescription food. As she got older, she
developed food allergies and pancreatitis.
The vet told us she would have to be on
this food the rest of her life. She was
on the prescription food for 2 years. I
took a chance, after I saw what the Nutro
Ultra did for our 1 year old, and she is
tolerating it very well, no diarrhea, no
throwing up, no skin irritations, etc.
She looks GREAT for 17 1/2 years old and
more importantly, I can tell she feels a
lot better.

Have you check with a pet store?
I know they sell some kind of spray to put
on animals bald areas. I've seen how this
stuff works, my friend's cat had a big
bald spot and used this spray. Her cat
also has allergies and is allergic to
herself. She also required steroid
injections.
I'll try to get the name of it, if I
cannot get the name of it try to call a
pet supply store about it.
