Sept 11, 2007 I had surgery to remove a
melanoma growth on top of my head with
a depth of .75mm. Well they had to do a
sentinel node mapping. The skin and the
lymhp nodes checkout negative . So that
was great. But here it is four months
later and I am still in pain from the
lymhp nodes surgery. I had one lymhp
nodes removed from each side of my neck.
I still have pain in my right shoulder. I
can hit 100 golf balls and no problems but
if I walk it hurts .
Sometimes for no reason it hurt. Does any
have anything like this... Please asker.
Thank you. Also what do I do to get no

Are you complaining of shoulder pain or
you are more bothered by pain while
walking?
The dissection of an sentinel lymph node
can be followed by several complications,
among which are nerve injury and
neuropathy.

I started physical theraty about three
weeks ago and played golf today. Feeling
way better now but not the same as before.
Doing okay thank you

Preventing or lowering the chances of
getting melanoma, includes avoiding
excessive sun exposure and sunburns (avoid
the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.),
wearing sunscreen year-round (SPF 30 and
more), checking skin regularly and
reporting changes to the doctor (be sure
to check feet, including the soles and the
spaces between your toes; also, check your
genital area, eyes), having regular skin
exams by a dermatologist.
The annual risk of recurrence for tumors
<1.5 mm thick remains <6% for the
first five years dropping to under 1% for
the next five years.
