For those who have been following: family
got ringworm from inhome daycare due to
the stray cat they took it. Guess how much
the ointment costs??? $50 WITH INSURANCE.
What the hell! I pay this women, she took
in a stray cat and NOW I have to pay that
money. So very pissed.
The special shampoo for my sons scalp
ringworm was $15 and his oral stuff we
bought before was $20. I should get a few
days of daycare free considering I
wuoldn't have to pay this if she didn't
keep a stray cat!

i think you should make HER pay for the
stuff he needs, its her fault she should
pay, if she (godforbid) beat him and he
got hurt she would have to pay the
hospital bill right so i dont see why that
should be different...but then again im
evil lol

Are you SURE it's from the cat? I mean,
there are tons of ways ringworm can be
caught.
But if SHE knew the kitty had ringworm,
then she should DEF be held
responsible!!!
Didn't you get it too?? that sucks girl!

I called her and she said, well I have no
money either. Her ex isn't paying child
support and she is barely making ends
meet.
Get this: They are on medicaid and her
insurance paid for EVERYTHING!! Her
ointment cost her $12. Doctors visit
free.
My doctors visit was $60, which is $20 per
person. Plus everything else.
I should get some freebees but she has no
money to allow for freebees. I am pissed
and she just doesn't know what to say but
"Oh well, I can't even pay my bills!" I
need to drop the kids off for a few hours
on Monday and a few hours on tuesday. If
she is going to charge me for those days,
that's it. GOOD BYE!
I am looking into other places but they
all stink. I visited one place two days
ago and it was sad. The place was clean
but there were hardly any toys at all! The
kids are confined to a very small space.
Nathan said that he was bored when we
left. There were no toys for boys yet they
can't bring their own toys. I am going to
look at two other places but again, the
kids are a lot younger than nathan and I
don't think they have toys.
I really should just consider an actual
daycare facility, At least they would have
toys and things for the kids to do.
I don't know. I am just so freakin'
annoyed right now.

I already did when I was charged that much
and she just sounded mad and said, I don't
have any money in my bank account. I told
her I just paid her (transfer funds
automatically) and she said OK. She has
her own financial issues. I don't expect
her to pay me back or give me free day
care for the two days that I work but I DO
want some additional free days. Next week
I need to work two additional half days.
It would be nice if that were free of
charge. I will tell her that I need those
days BUT can't afford to pay her because
of all the money we just spent for the
ringworm. I will see what she says.
I am trying so hard to find someone else
and am having no luck!

I went to another forum and ALL the ladies
said that I should suck it up, ringworm is
common and I shouldn't expect anything.
It's interesting how forums are just so
very different. I like this one better:)
You guys are at least a lot better at
sympathizing with me by saying "I would be
pissed" and validate my feelings rather
than just telling me to suck it up.
Thanks ladies

if your boys got lets say meningitis from
there would these other people feel the
same, its pretty much the same thing, its
her fault for bringing it into a house
where there are other peoples kids and for
not informing you in time to find a
different sitter so she should compencate,
simple as that

I had ringworm when I was in the 4th
grade.
I'm not sure how "common" it actually is,
but I wouldn't tell you to suck it up, for
the simple fact that you're having to pay
all of this extra money out of your pocket
because of something that she did. It was
obviously an accident, but why should they
tell you to suck it up. Tell them to send
you 60 dollars and then you'll be
perfectly fine!

I would watch your kids for you for free,
they're little cutie pies!
Good luck finding a better place for your
kids to stay... I'm not so sure I'd trust
her around my kids with her kind of
judgment, either!

I love ya all!! Someone else on that other
forum stuck up for me and basically said
the same things you said then others
followed.
I thought ringworm was a worm, too. I
guess it's not a worm but a funky fungus
that has the appearance of a worm.
I am looking like crazy for another place.
I will continue the search and let you
guys know what I come up with. Any ideas
on how to search? I usually go craigslist
but haven't had extreme luck with them
lately. Hardly anyone uses the phone book
anymore. I work about 45 min away, so I
can't ask people I work with...they
wouldn't know.

I know if you go to the YMCA in our town
they will give you a list of local daycare
providers and such. Maybe if you have a
YMCA in your town you could call them and
see if they do that where you live! I
really hope you find some place new. I
don't think I'd feel comfortable with that
lady watching my children!

Good idea. I completely forgot about those
types of options. There is a list in Idaho
that has licensed daycare facilities. A
lot of those people don't advertise off of
Craigslist. I will start looking through
that tonight!!!
Thanks much!
