Hi, my husband had total thyroidectomy 3 years ago so is now on thyroxine. Ever since the op he has had carpel tunnel symtpoms in his left hand especially but getting much worse just recently. Has anyone else had the same since having their thyroid removed?

Hi, ryll!
Which symptoms he is mainly experiencing? Do the carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms interfere with his normal activities, including sleep?
For how long they persist?

Hi, carpel tunnel is a symptom of low parathyroid levels. He needs to have his PTH and Calcium checked. Best of luck!

He'll need to check his substitutive therapy. Low levels of thyroid hormones are leading to carpal tunnel syndrome.

Carpel tunnel syndrome
I had a thyroidectomy over a year ago and I also have carpel tunnel in my left wrist. I also didn't have the pain in my left wrist like I do now. My thyroid levels aren't adjusted yet. I thought I was there but the levels had to be adjusted again just recently.

Pain in left wrist
I had a total thyroidectomy 18 months ago due to cancer, I am currently off all medication before I have further thyroglobulin tests in a couple of weeks.
My left wrist is so painful my doctor has asked a specialist to see me with a possibility of having injections. I had carpel tunnel ops on both wrists many years ago. I'm now wondering if it's something to do with my thyroid levels.
