....My platelets, that is!

The week I delivered they were at 46,000
Day of delivery 111,000 (thanks to steriods) 12/10/07
The day of my D & C 70,000 12/21/07
Post op lab appt 37,000 1/4/08
Post op appt 32,000 1/7/08
Hematologist apt 48,000 1/11/08
Today 40,000 1/18/08

They keep dropping and then going back up. I hope they figure out what's causing this to happen. I get the results back on Feb 8th. Sad

Anyway, just wanted to update.

Platelets help your blood to clot and if they get below 50,000 then there's a higher risk of spontaneous bleeding. The normal is between 150,000 and 400,000 I believe.

Uh-oh!! I hope they find out what's wrong and fix it.

Do you feel anything because of this...like does it cause anything other than bleeding?

No I don't feel anything because of it. Low platelets can cause easy brusing and red dots underneath the surface of the skin. I have both of those, but they're just annoying.
