I'm starting to feel overwhelmed with all the testing that has to happen. I really didn't think there would be that much.

I've already had all the testing and u/s and am currently taking provera to induce af. Then:

CD1 - Ovary scan. Then they will call in my script for Letrozole (femera).

CD3-7 Take the Letrozole

Day after opk I have to call so we can schedule a post coitial test

Then at 7 dpo I have to go for a progesterone check.

Then I either get a bfp or start all over again. I don't know, it all just seems a little excessive. I really thought they would just write the script and say call us when you get pregnant.

Has anyone else had to got through all this stuff? Will it only be the first month? Ugh. Sorry, I know this is kinda pointless, I'm just uber emotional right now.

It's not pointless...you have every reason to be overwhelmed. I'm so sorry you have to go through all of that, but just try to think of it as part of your journey to mommyhood! I'm sure all the annoying details will be over & done with before you know it. Smile Good luck & don't worry, everything will be okay!

It does sound like alot!! But I would think that some of the tests are one time only. Like the coital test and maybe even the ovary scan. But I think that they will probably be checking your progesterone levels for a while. That way when you do catch the egg they will know if you need extra progesterone to help it stick.

Just think at least now you are on the right track and you should be getting that lovely BFP really soon!!!

Good luck ((BIG HUGS)) to you!!!

I'm sorry Christy, It does sound like a lot of tests....which is hard when you have to get time off work etc. BUT on the bright side, at least your RE is very involved and you will get lots of answers about what is happening (or not happening).
The post-coital test is really good one to get....as it will really pin-point any issues.
I'm actually really excited for you!! You are on your way!! Some of us need a little help, and that's ok. As long as the end result is a healthy little baby...its all good
Smile

I know it's all for the best. And I know it really isn't even that big of a deal. I think I'm just letting the Provera get to me. That stuff is a beast.

Thank you for all the kind words!

I also think it sounds like a lot of tests, but I agree that the post-coital test is probably done only once. Based on the results of that test, they may recommend more agressive treatments like IUI.

This is all for the best. Doesn't seeing an RE make you feel like you are moving in the right direction instead of standing still? I was definitely feeling like I was standing still before our first RE visit.

My ob pretty much had the same schedule set up for us when we were on the route of meds. I was supposed to have one or two ultrasounds per cycle. It will all be worth it once you get your BFP though!

That does sound like a lot, but like everyone else said, its for the best. You are on a track and the doctor only has one job...thats to get you pregnant.

You will do fine...plus after you go through all that then I can ask you questions when I go through it...
