Does anybody else experience bouts of heart pounding, no pains but feel panicky. Sometimes it happens when I lay down at night or when I am just relaxing and can go on for an hour or more. It feels like I can't get oxygen in but think maybe that is the panic aspect of it.

Hi,
Yes, I had the exact same thing happen during menopause. I would be just relaxing and my heart would begin to pound and really beat fast. I would feel panicky and anxious and I also would have shortness of breath. It would take about an hour for me to calm down. It's amazing how our hormones and affect so many things in our bodies. I also would wake up out a a sound sleep with my heart racing. I am about 3 years post and things have really settled down. Be patient.
