Q: Period and insomnia ?

This past month I had a strong suspicion I was pregnant. Refer to my other posts on....I think here or Getting Pregnant. Mid-cycle cramping, nausea, lovely blue veins on my tatas.

Got my period (two days early). Thing is, meanwhile I am still nauseous. Just after meals or in the middle of them. I feel like throwing up right there, like I'm grossed out almost. I also have insomnia-bad. As of yesterday, I had been up for over 48 hours. This is bad for me since I am in nursing school and I cannot be tired. I have long labs and I have to pay attention in class. I feel like I'm losing my mind. I have never felt so bad in my life. On top of all of this, my IBS has flared up terribly!

My period seemed normal to me. I admit, there was more dark, thick blood than usual, but I cramped intensely the day after it started. Seemed like a true period to me. Today, which is CD 6 and I am always done with my period by now, I had mild cramps and spotting. Pretty confused.

I'm definitely going to the doctor because I just feel as if something is not right with me. I DO lead a pretty high stressed life with school and everything. Maybe that's it. Anything similar ever happen to anyone?

I must have missed your post earlier this month! Your symptoms sound really promicing but....you know the drill.

Are you temping at all? Or just using a calendar to figure out fertile days?

*While I have never experienced anything like this (as I've never been pregnant) My boss did experience 4 days of very heavy bleeding with cramps and thought she had miscarried (because she had KNOWN in her heart that she was pregnant) a few days later she still wasn't feeling well and decided to test. Low and behold, she is now 28 weeks 5 days pregnant!

So, I still think you could test. But it's up to you how you feel about the results. I can handle bfns so I'll always tell people to test. For some, its just to hard to see. Only you know how you will feel.

In no way do I want to discredit any feelings you have about something not being right with you. But I do notice that women often think when something isn't 'right', it must be pregnancy and that isn't always the case. We worry about pregnancy constantly whether we think we do or not. We track our cycles. We count the days. We know our bodies and the slightest variation of the everyday normal must be pregnancy. However, pregnancy is not always the issue and if you find you get a BFN, please go see a doctor to find out why you are feeling 'off'.

Good luck!

Well, in this case we wanted to avoid getting pregnant...so it's not like I was really hoping to be pregnant. I have considered that it could be in my mind and I'm just stressed. But the mid-cycle cramps scare me a little...I've never had that before. I just don't want anymore cysts!

A BFN won't bother me. I could test again, but I hate wasting money. GRRRR. I think I might wait it out.

Oh, sorry about that. I thought you were ttc.

I'm all to familiar with cysts. They could explain the cramping you were experiencing.

All i can say is good luck. I hope you get the results you are hoping for.

We stopped TTC a few months ago. For a few reasons:

1. Pay off some debt.
2. Tired of being put through the emotional ups and downs of trying. (mostly this reason)

If I got pregnant, it would be no big deal. I would just be furious if it didn't happen after a year of trying, but did happen after one month of avoiding it!

I just took another test and it's negative. Positive I'm not pregnant now...I really think I just need to unwind a little. School is really a lot right now.
