herpes from first ?
Posted: 01-17-08 22:12pm

my ex-girlfriend and i were both each other's firsts. we went out for almost 3 years and the relationship ended a few months ago. i'm 20 years old now and when i was 18, i used to give blood so i knew i didn't have anything. my exgirlfriend and i used to have sex and we've never used a condom. the reason is i felt really insecure because my penis doesn't fit into most condoms and i've never found a condom that was my size. so when we have sex, i just pull out and we've never had a problem for the entire relationship. just a week ago, she tells me that she's had red bumps in her vaginal area and has had flu-like symptoms. she's went to the doctors and the doctors say she has genital herpes. i freaked out and checked myself and found a single small blister on my balls near my penis. i also have small cold sores in the inside of my mouth and just today, i'm getting a really bad flu.

if told the situation, it's obvious that we both have herpes, but i don't understand how we would get it. i've read that it could happen through genitals touching or something like that, but we've never been with anybody aside from each other. also, we've both have not had any sexual contact with anyone else.

i went to my doctor and he gave me paperwork to get a bloodtest. i went to get a blood test and am awaiting results. if the results or positive then i'll have to accept it, but i can't accept the reason how we got it. i trust her completely and i think she trusts me as well so theres no other way we could've gotten it.

we had sex a couple of weeks ago without a condom and the symptoms seem to be the first symptoms of herpes as stated in many sites on the internet. please let me know what's going on.

you can get herpes from oral sex and kissing
say she kissed someone with herpes
then gave you oral or kissed you, then you could get it
same vice versa

is it possible to get herpes if you have open wounds and you touch someone's blood if they're bleeding. i guess i still can't accept why i would have the STD when ive really only been with one girl my entire life.

is it possible to get HIV through open wound blood contact?? i'm having a huge anxiety problem about this situation. because of what im going through, im starting to believe that i may be infected with anything.

i'm sure my exgirlfriend didn't lie and i'm not sure how this is happening, i'm starting to believe anything is possible.

i've read that hiv through blood contact from sharing needles is possible. but what are the chances of that?

HIV and Herpes are completely different. Herpes isnt really transferred by blood, it's more of a skin contact transmission. HSV-1 vs HSV-2... they are basically interchangeable. you can get either one on the mouth or on the genitals. MANY MANY people have HSV-1 on their face. Many people get it in childhood, cold sores, anyone? it's easily passed around, and not really something to get freaked out about. and chances are good that if she gave it to you, she didnt know she had it, or that that's what it was.
Now HIV on the other hand is completely different. If you got that, it would be life altering. but based on the fact that you were each other's firsts, it pretty much rules that out.

If one of you had a cold sore in or on your mouth and performed oral sex then you could have given each other GENITAL HERPES.

None of you didnt have to cheat on each other. Maybe she or you had a blister and didnt realize it was anything big and without knowing any better transferred it to each other. Please do not panic. its really unnecessary. You could have touched a surface that had the virus and then when pee and touched your penis. Bam you have herpes

or kissed someone that had a sore....family member or sibling....then kissed your GF and she performed oral sex.

Or maybe from a toilet???? There are many ways to get herpes, but you cannot get it from blood. I have donated blood and I told them I had herpes, they said that as long as there is no active outbrealk then I could not tranfer it.

So maybe you got some bad blood from a person that wasnt completely honest?

Theres so many possibilities.
