Q: TMJ and Nausea?

I am 43 years old and recently diagnosed with TMJ. I have been suffering for 2 months now...my symptoms looked more like an ear infection, so I was treated for that for awhile and now recently between a dentist, an ENT and my Dr. they figured out it was TMJ.

Here's the issue--along with neck, shoulder and chest ache...I have been having nausea (more like quesiness) and gastrointestinal stuff on an off....it could be because I have tried taking advil regularly..but I thought that was bothering my stomach. I tried Aleve and it was the same reaction. I was doing some vitamin therapy, but I stopped that too...does anyone else out there have stomach issues with TMJ? Or is something else going on?

I am waiting for my mouthguard (the dentist took mold last week) and I start physical therapy next week....I have been using heat and ice and that seems to help a bit, but the stomach thing has been plaguing me for about 6 weeks. HELP!

yes one of the symptoms is nausea on occasion. make sure that when you take aleve or ibuprophen that you take it with lots of water and food. you may want to look into a soft diet and go more on the healthy side and cut out anything that has a lot of grease in it. use heat and ice on that jaw. im here if you need me Smile
