I had my days mixed up and just realized that I took two pills on Tuesday (the Tuesday and Wednesday pill) and the Thursday pill on Wednesday. It is now Thursday and I only have a Friday pill left. Should I go ahead and take the Friday pill today so I don't skip a day, or take the pill at my usual time on Friday? (it is the last pill in the pack) Im sorry if this is confusing. Thank you!

I wouldn't take that advice. It's better to have a pill every day than to purposely skip. Take one pill every day until you run out of ACTIVE pills. You can then open up another pill pack and use that as a "go-to" pack if you ever lose a pill or accidentally double up again. Take one ACTIVE pill from this go-to pack, and then you'll have taken the active pills for the right number of days, and you'll be back to the right day of the week to start your placebo week. That way your schedule isn't messed up AND you don't have an unprotected day.

do you have another pack? I'd keep taking it, it's ok to take two in a day (by accident) but don't skip another day. If you have another pack, steal one from there.

I agree with Eiri.

If you don't have an extra pack for a "go-to" pack, what you should do is take your pill without skipping any days. Then take the seven placebo pills like normal, and start the next pack as soon as you are done with this one. It would just move your schedule up by a day, but you would still be fully protected.

Something similar to sbelle happened to me. My problem is I couldn't take an extra pill from a 'go-to' pack (wish it had occured to me then) and now if I take my 7 days without a pill my starting day will change from a friday to a thursday. I really do not want to change the day; is it really bad to take 8 days instead of 7 so I don't change my starting day??

always remember the rule. Miss two pills in the first two weeks and you are not covered for contraception. If you double in a day then resume your normal directions you may develope some brown stoting one to two days after as this is a step down in estrogen but don't worry..keep on schedule of you will have two periods in one month...

I did the same thing but have none left in this packet as i was supposed to start my pill-free week the day after tomorrow. I thought if you start this week one day early it affected your protection?

kettleoffish, No it will not affect your protection. Remember to start the next pack a day early and keep to the new schedule from now on.

Take care!

Thanks Smile yeah i phoned my doctor and he said i could either take a pill from the next packet tommorrow, and use that packet as a stand-by for if (let's hope not) it happens again! then it wont affect which day i have to start taking them for me, which is good because I find it easy to start monday morning. Otherwise, I could leave it and start a day early without affecting my protection, but it would mean changing my schedule. Thanks for your help Razz)

Birth control
I had taken a birth control pill on schedule at 4pm but then around 3:30am I woke up and took an allergy pill because they were bothering me, my allergy pills and birth control are in the same place so I accidentally took another birth control pill because I was like half asleep. The pills I took were Sunday and then I took Monday by mistake. What do I do now?

I'm on my last week before I go on my period, and wondered whether I should 'borrow' from another packet, as I've done something similar too.

birth pill
something like this happened to me in the first week , i always start my pill on a saturday, and on the end of the week (friday) i took my pill normaly, but then fell i sleep and took another one i guess i was dreaming, but i took the friday pill of the last week on the pack. i continued taking the pills normaly, and im now on the last week so my pack should end on friday but as i took one by mistake the pack is going to end on thursday, should i take a "friday" pill from another pack so the days are all complete?
