I am 19 years old, and when I was 14 I was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. As if that was not hard enough to live with, I just got out of the hospital two weeks ago. My problem? I went into the hospital with lower stomach pains, and after a bunch of tests were run, the docs decided to do an exploratory surgery to get a better look of things. When they got in they found I had a large tumor. In the end, I had part of my colon and bladder removed as well as a complete hysterectomy. I have not been to a doctor yet that has seen someone as young as me with colon cancer. I am hoping to find younger people who have or have had this type of cancer. So, no, you are never too young for cancer, arthritis, or anything. If you feel like you need to go to the doctor, go. Don't wait. I walked around with cancer for who knows how long, and when it was finally found, it was a stage iii. I am thankful they feel they got all of the tumor, but I still have to go through chemo and radiation.
If anyone would like to talk, just let me know!
