Q: alcohol withdrawal process

Hello all. I've been drinking about 1-1.5 pints of hard liquor (usually in mixed drinks) a night for the past 6 months. I never use to drink except socially and then one day I just started ... next thing I knew I was just drinking automatically ... and here I am 6 months later. I hate it and I want to stop immediately.

I am worried about the withdrawal. I've heard that it is a bad idea to just stop cold turkey. Does anyone have any suggestions about how I should go about this? I know my drinking intake might not sound much to some, but the fact remains that it has become a habit and one that is starting to really worry me. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Thank you for the reply. I'm just wondering how I should go about it. The problem is that I also smoke and I would like to quit that too. But I'm afraid to stop both at the same time.

sure! as i said u must just stop it little by little, if before you do 1 bunch of cigaritte now make it half then the next 1/4.. you should be patient and be aware not to take 1 bunch in a day again if you really want to stop it!! it's not good for you!!
