negative test with pregnancy symptoms Posted: 01-15-08 14:16pm
ok first off im on birth control but this
is the first month ive been on it. we
waited 2 weeks of me being on it till we
felt comfortable to have sex with out a
condom... so ive been on it for a month
and a 1 week into my 2nd month... the last
week and a half ive been having sypmtoms
of being pregnant ive had mood swings and
cramps and been feeling hotter then normal
and i have a weird feeling in my lower
amdomen not really cramps but like
somethings going on and my breasts have
been more tender and ive had head aches
more... these are all things i read other
people get when there pregnant but my last
period came on time which was a week ago
but ive had these sympoms since before
that period... and it was lighter then
normal but lasted 4 days and there was
more clear discharge.... could all this
just be because i am on birth control now?
i took a pregnancy test today and it said
neg and its still a few weeks till my next
period so should i wait and see what
happends? whats your guys opinions??

You have to wait to test for pregnancy
until you actually miss a period.
You are supposed to wait 2-3 months before
having unprotected sex with birth control
pills. 2 weeks isn't enough time for your
body to adjust to the hormones.

I doubt you are pregnant but wait about 2
weeks and test again. It should definitely
be accurate by then.
Also, your birth control becomes useless
if you take antibiotics. Remember that! No
one told me....

No-
You are only supposed to wait a week for
almost every type of bc.
You are having symptoms because this is
your second month on the pill-you're not
pregnant and there's no reason to think
you're pregnant unless you weren't taking
them correctly.

When I was taking the pill, my doctor told
me it would be 2 months before I was
protected from pregnancy.
I'm glad I have an IUD now.

Your boobs grew without being pregnant?
Lucky!
I doubt you are pregnant though. Make sure
to use protection.

Maybe for the birth control thing it just
depends on the brand cuz mine says 7
days... my dr did say it takes a few weeks
for your hormones to regulate but that
means your period might be off but she
didn't say about being unprotected as far
as pregnancy

Yeah, some of us have had this discussion
on here before. It's weird. Lots of
doctors will just throw out random numbers
to tell people, but every birth control
package (and planned parenthood) says a
week. I would trust the packages just
because if they had bad information,
they'd get sued.
