I was disgnoased with PCO 5 years ago. I had excessive hair growing under my chin, the sides of my face and just generally very hairy. The gynae had prescribed the birth control pill, metformin and androcur. They did help balance the hormones and lighten the hair but the hair did not go away.
I recently did some research on the net and found out that saw palmetto can also be used to help control hirsutism however you are not allowed to use it with birth control pill.
Is there anyone out there who is using saw palmetto to treat hirsutism and has it worked for you?
Are you also on the birth control pill?
As this a natural supplement my gynae cannot really give me any insight on this.
