Have you been taking the birth control pills the whole time? How were you avoiding conception during the two years you've been having sex?

Since you took birth control pills and Regesterone, it's not surprising that you don't have your period now. Your cycle will be all messed up. Also, Regesterone acts as a contraceptive, and it's very unlikely you got pregnant while taking it. Did a doctor tell you to take it? Because it would've been much safer and easier for you to use your birth control pills to skip your period instead of adding regesterone on top of it. Regesterone has some of the same hormones as your birth control, and I'm not sure if you should take them together.

Also, it's very unlikely that a pregnancy test would be inaccurate after 12 weeks. If you want to know for sure, can you go to your doctor for a more accurate test? By 12 weeks, it should be obvious that you're pregnant.

So I doubt you're pregnant, the delay in your menses was probably due to the medications you were taking. And in the future, if you want to skip your period, you can use your birth control pills to do it instead of taking another medication.

Lastly, if there is ever a chance you might be pregnant, DO NOT take regesterone because it may cause serious problems for the baby. It will not cause an abortion, but it will cause malformations in the child.

... Yes, birth control pills are effective for most women, actually. If you use them perfectly, you only have a 1-3% chance of getting pregnant.

If you aren't careful about how you take them, then no, they might not work. Or you might be REALLY unlucky and be in the 1-3% of women who get pregnant while taking them.
