Q: Next Monday's Appointment. 23 Weeks.

So monday the 21st I have an appointment at my OB/GYN. By then I will be 23 (and a half Smile) weeks along. What do they usually do at this appointment when you're around 23 weeks? I just want to make sure there aren't any (major) surprises.

same as all the other appointments. pee in a cup, weight and blood pressure, listen to the heartbeat, measure your fundal height, answer any questions.

i think that's about it.

oh, and the following appointment will probably be your glucose test. that's where you drink the glucose drink and get your blood drawn an hour later. my doctor gave me the drink at my 24 week appointment and the paperwork so i just had to go do it on my own during week 28.

yuck. Sad

yeah, i'm kind of expecting it to be pretty bland. i think they might also go over my ultrasound stuff too. and my bloodwork from 19 weeks.

when do you start going in every two weeks instead of every month? in the third trimester?

my doctors have never gone over ultrasounds or blood work. i'm sure they would have if i asked, but usually they just tell me everything looks good.

usually 28 weeks is when you start going every 2 weeks. some doctors wait until 30 though.

i'm excited because i'm starting my bi-weekly appointments and it just makes it go by so much faster.

My doctor is just weird. I didn't start going ever 2 weeks until 32 week. did that twice and now i'm every week

Going every two weeks does make it go by faster but when you start every week it's like wasn't i just here yesterday? lol

The orange drink made me gag. It was NASTY.

I started going every week at 27 weeks, but I think it's pretty much more of the same (pee in a cup, bp, heartbeat) up until like 32 weeks, when they do the Strep B swab... and then 38 weeks, when they start regularly checking your cervix.

The glucose test didn't bother me any. I drank it over ice, so it wasn't that bad. And I started going every 2 weeks at 28 weeks, and every week at 30-32 weeks I think.
