I started my first pack of Solia last month, breakthrough bled all month, and when it came time for my period while I was taking the sugar pill it kept on breakthrough bleeding and came only one day really heavy. Went to the doctor and she gave me a preg. test and it came out neg, and she said if the first week of the second pack (that's now) causes and breakthrough bleeding, then we have to change. It's been 2 days into the second pack, and no bleeding... how safe am I to have sex? Would you?

I copied this to the women's forum, you'll get more help there when discussing birth control Wink

You are safe to have sex. You were after the first week, regardless of the bleeding.

The only reason the bleeding is a problem is because you could be losing too much blood and getting health problems because of that.

Breakthrough bleeding is unfortunately a pretty common side effect of birth control and does NOT mean that it's not working. You are still protected from pregnancy as long as you are taking it correctly.

I found in men's sexual health (she put it there by accident) and copied it here without really thinking... .and then I saw it was already on birth control...

But oh well, she's getting her answers Smile
