I am a 14 year old female.I have an l4-l5 ruptured disc.I have had a set (3) steroid injections and they seemed to have worked pretty good.I have been to physical therapy a couple of times but i leave there feeling worse then when i arrived.Part of the problem is that since i have pain down my L leg i dont really do and excersises because they hurt. This causes my hamstrings to be EXTREMLY tight!I have pain all day everyday and i usually miss school a day or two a week!To releive some of the pain i take Alive and Nurantan thay seem to work well although they do not give complete relief...I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything else i can do to releive some of the pain..Does heat or cold help?what has worked for you

Heat on the muscles to help relax them is good. Cold on the ruptured disk site will help to reduce pain and inflammation. Do not use hot or cold for more than 15 minutes at one time.

Taking magnesium and potassium will keep your muscles healthy and more relaxed.
