signs to determine sex ?

Boy Or Girl?
Im 25 weeks pregnant and not showing all that much. However i can tell im carring low. I had an ultra-sound at 19 weeks and the doctors couldn't tell what im having due to the fact the baby had his/her legs together. However my boyfriend swears he say something and said its a boy. I really want to know so i can be prepared for my first child. The thing is where im living to they don't give a second ultra-sound unless your placenta is low or they didn't get all the measurements required. I read a few wivestales some say im having a girl, while others say im having a boy. I really want a Boy. Can anyone tell me some signs of a boy or girl? or give me an excuse for another ulrta-sound?

You are right, all the boy/girl signs are old wive's tales. When, in reality, any 'guess' has a 50/50 chance of being right.

You can pay for your own ultrasound.

I've read all the wives tales and I really don't believe there's any truth to any of them. The only one I think may have some truth to it is that baby girls have high heartbeats and boys have lower ones. But of course that can't be proven. Hopefully you can have another ultrasound and the baby will be more coopertive.

By now, with all medical science has to offer, it could have been proven if it were true.

you can pay for your own ultrasound if you really want to know, but dont always rely that they will be right. i had four ultrasounds and all of my drs said they had good "crotch shots" of my baby, they told me it was a "girl"... when i went into labor and delivery, out popped a healthy BOY lol. I had those ultrasounds done at 5 thru 8 and a half months too, so it wasnt to early to tell. all the wives tales told me i was having a boy lol, just by chance they were right. i wouldnt rely on them, just do those for fun. but best advice is to keep an open mind cuz in rare cases like mine a girl can be a boy or vise versa. also, keep reciepts on everything you get even if your told your having a boy/girl for "just in case". i had to do some emergency shopping lol. goodluck with your pregnancy hun. all the wives' tales pointed to my friend having a boy (heartbeat, carrying high/low; wide/out, necklace over belly, etc) and of course it came out a girl. They can be interesting to do though, just to see if they are right.

The doctor told her if it comes out a boy (b/c of the heartbeat), then he's a genius, if it's a girl, then it's an old wives' tale, lol.

I think everything low is boys. Low heartbeat, low bellies... ok that's it but still.

I had the same problem. My baby's legs were crossed and my doc. wouldn't give me another u/s. Then, when I was at 36 weeks, my doc wanted me to see one of the other docs incase he wasn't on call when I went into labor. The other doctor instantly asked me if I wanted to know the sex. Of course I did!
Before I had the u/s, he said he would put money on a girl because I was due in July. Well, he did the u/s and sure enough, it was a girl!

BTW-my doctor told me I was probably having a boy because the heart rate was always 130-something. It's NOT TRUE.

why is everyone so rude lately?!? I think we need some counseling here!!!

Like I said, there's a reason the word 'tale' is in Old Wives' Tales. It's a made up story that's interesting to listen to. Plus it's nice to see which ones actually come out true for you!

Anyone know the necklace one? Mom lays on her back while someone holds a necklace over the belly. If it goes in circles it's a _____, straight line ______. I can't seem to get them straighted out!

Ladies, calm down.

Signs like low belly are not an indication. You can get a sonogram done when she/she is being more cooperative.

I always forget how cute you were!!

actually, it looks pretty much in the middle... not too high, not too low. Only reason I say that is because I've definitely seen lower and definitely seen higher.

I so hope I look SOMETHING like that!!!
