severely burned vagina from Aldara Posted: 01-13-08 22:46pm
just a word of caution to any and all,
IF you are prescribed aldara for your
genital warts, USE SPARINGLY.
i used it on my spots and have severely
burned my vagina.
now, after days of agony, the sores have
turned to ulcerations and look like pus
filled craters. upon cleansing the wounds,
i see a red line around the circle of the
holes where there used to be sores.
i am such an utter mess down there, i
seriously have no idea what to do next. i
think its burned the warts off too, but
its too swollen, red and discoloured to
get a good look at them. judging from the
fact they look like craters, i am hoping
this means, that once this all clears up,
this outbreak will be over.
it is my first incident with warts, and
has been a sheer nightmare.
be careful with aldara, and WHATEVER you
do, use it soooo sparingly.
hope this prevents someone else, what i
have had to go through.

Thanks for the tip!
How many days did it take for the blisters
to ulcer and then scab over w/ Aldara?
How many days until full recovery?

Aldara is a total nightmare. It is also my
first time dealing with something like
this and now I can barely walk. I have
never experienced anything so awful.
Whatever you do, insist that your doctor
find another way to treat you. I'm on my
way to the gyno now to scream at
her/scream in pain/hopefully please god
get relief.

Cold presses can help with the localized
pain, although cold generally SLOWS DOWN
the cycle of a herpes outbreak. So, you
might try to wet a washcloth with cool
water and apply to the ulcers.

its not herpes, aldara is prescribed for
genital warts. but i think i may have used
too much because it has burned the warts
so bad the have turned into ulcers. thanks
for youre reply though. i was thinking of
aloe vera i have a plant at home but im
too scared i myt make it worse or give
myself an infection....
