Q: Painful testicle w/ pain after orgasm
asked by: DoctorQuestion on January 13th, 2008
My left testicle started feeling tender and hurting after a moderate touch this morning. Pain when moved is acute but not particularly severe, and it's in the "tubes" above the testicle (which I think is the epididymis?), though it occasionally extends to the groin region. Those "tubes" feel larger than the right testicles', and move around in the scrotum less easily. Orgasm is achievable, and semen appears as per normal, but the pain remains even after orgasm.

I was wondering if there was any cause for worry given these symptoms? I feel perfectly alright apart from this tenderness and pain (excluding my shoulder injury), and am able to participate in physical activity. What should I do next?

Thanks.

According to the symptoms you describe, you could be experiencing inflammation of the epididymis (epididymitis). Next step: you should visiting your GP for a physical examination. you can also request sperm and urine analyses after the physical. An ultrasound examination and examination by a urologist can be performed later, if necessary.
