Q: starting BP meds for low energy

I had a blood pressure test yesterday at the dr.'s office and my top number was running in the low 140's and the bottom in the low to mid 90's. The nurse said she suspects the dr. will put me on a low dose BP med. I go see him in less than two weeks.

I'm only 37 and this has scared me. However, I'm tired of feeling not great. For the past few months, I don't feel great, but I don't feel really bad either. I'm tired, lacking in energy and just generally feel lazy.

I'm not normally a lazy person AT ALL and this bothers me. So, while I hate the thought of going on meds, I would like to feel good again.

With changes in diet and consistent exercise, and maybe some breathing exercises, how quickly might I possibly see positive results? If I do have to go the meds route, I want it to be a temporary thing.

Thanks for any input you might have!

Have you been diagnosed with primary or secondary hypertension?
What kind of tests you've been done?
