My girlfriend recently took a pregnancy test. The Crosshairs Means a "Yes" for pregnant. A single horizontal line "--" means No.

She pee'd on it and it immediatley showed a BIG bold "--" line for "not pregnant".

She placed it in her pocketbook, and 20 mins later a VERY FAINT vertical smear showed up.. you can't even call it a line. it's not a complete line.

Is she pregnant?

It depends..she may be or it could be an evap line because it came up after the time limit. This has happened to many of the girls on here. It ended up that some were in fact pregnant and for others they weren't.

Your best bet would be to take another test. Make sure to use first morning urine because it is more concentrated with HCG.

It's an evaporation line most likely. I think the time frame for accurate results is two minutes after the test is taken. Did she take it with first morning urine? To be sure, take another test in the morning tomorrow(or someday soon) and sit for however long the directions on the box say for you to wait and then look to see if there is a . Chances are it was just the evap line

Yeah, we can't actually tell you if she's pregnant because you took too long to look at the test... you have GOT to read the instructions! Two minutes maximum, then look, and then throw it away.

Actually, she took the test at about 11:30am at school. Immediatley, while leaving the bathroom, it read Negative very boldly. Then, about 5-10 minutes later, the faint line showed up.

Her period is due in about 6 days, take or give...

Another WEIRD thing.. On Dec 21, she was like on her period a little bit for about 2 days.. and then it just vanished... It was weird.. it wasn't like blood... it was brownish blood. What was this??

That doesnt mean she is pregnant does it?

PMS stands for Pre Menstrual Syndrome, so logically if she has PMS, she is Pre-Menstrual... aka, her period is coming!

The test is compromised because you looked at it after two minutes. Ignore completely the faint positive line you saw.

I would suggest buying another test and have her using first morning urine right when she wakes up. She absolutely must look at it within two minutes, or it doesn't count.
