Birth Story (what a Wonderful Suprize!)

On weds at 8am january 8th i went to the hospital for my scheduled induction. When i arrived to my hospital i went straight to the labor and delivery part and since i had already pre-registered i got my armbands put on and taken to my room right away and dressed into my gown. i laid on my bed, my nurse came in and had me sign a ton of legal documents (which diddnt take long), and then listened to a brief conversation of what could/should happen and all that good stuff. after that she started my pictocin and saline solution drip into an IV in my left arm. it was about 9am when i was hooked up and began to experience minnor contractions. my contractions became harder, stronger and longer by 11am and thats when i was checked to see how far i had dialated (i came into the hospital at 3 cm btw), well i was at a 5cm by that point and the contractions were making me cry so i had asked for an epidural. my nurse said ok and went to find the anestigiologist and then came back to tell me that he could come and give me it in 45 mins so i said ok again. as i waited i started crying a bit more and got onto all fours, rocked myself back and fourth (only way that helped the pain). my nurse left and came back in 30 mins while i suffered thru thiese contractions waiting for the guy to come with my epi shot. she came in and decided to check me, i was at 9 cm!!! so from 5-9cm in 30 mins she freaked and started setting me up for delivery right then and there. i asked for drugs and she said its to late. i paniced, i was relying on them!!!! oh i failed to mention that they popped my waters right after they started my pictocin drip. anyways i sat in bed without any drugs and bared down thru contractions until nearly 2pm then they got on me to push. well i pushed for 1 hour and 59 mins before my baby was born. my dr cut me and on top of that it wasnt good enough because i had a 3rd degree tear to go with it!!! my son (we thought was a girl from 3 u/s saying girl) was born at 3:59 pm on jan. 9th. 7 pounds 11 ozs, 18 3/4 inches long. I will never do this again w/o pain medication!!!!! w/e got an epi, you are so lucky. things went by to quickly for me but i made it thru. nearly a complete 7 hours of delivery and only 4 of those hours were the hardest because 3-5cm dialated was easy labor for me. after hitting 5cm-9 it was hell lol. he is beautiful, healthy brown haired, chubby cheeked baby boy who looks to have blue eyes (even tho most babies do at birth) i hope they stay blue but we will see. anyways thats my birth story. it took wellover 30 mins to stitch me up and im at home now so very sore but so very happy to have my baby boy! my son is so laid back so far and ive never known a love so strong as this. thanks for listening. pm me if you wanna hear more details, tried to make it short.
