My boyfriend has almost high blood pressure. he is on the low end of hypertension. 140/90. He is moderately active, because he walks on campus every day. He is skinny about 170lbs at 6 foot 1. His father has high blood pressure (I am not sure of the readings). He is also thin, and is very fit (he runs regularly, and exercises with push ups every morning)
My boyfriend wants to go to the doctor for his blood pressure, but I am concerned that they will just put him on meds, that don't work and could cause side effects. So, I'm looking for stories, good, bad, and ugly about doctors and effective measures for reducing genetically high blood pressure.
Thanks!
