I just want to echo Georgia59's post. There is alot of fear mongering out there by itself and then you have a billion dollar industry, the penis enlargement one, who has a major goal in mind: Making you believe you have a small penis so you'll buy their products.
Also, the porn industry doesn't help either. First off, they DO hire guys with larger than average members. But they also tend to hire shorter guys and petite women.
I think we all know why. Ron Jeremy may look impressive, but what if he wasn't 5'6" and instead the average male height of 5'10" or taller? Something suddenly looks smaller, even though it isn't. The same thing with the women, more petite they are, the larger the penis looks.
This isn't including tricks used to make the penis look larger(Such as shaving pubic hair).
Now onto actual penis size studies(Staff measured), if you still need more convincing after what Georgia59 posted, here are a few.
A study published in the Journal of Urology gave the average length of a penis at: 5.1 inches. Also it came to the conclusion that âNeither patient age nor size of the flaccid penis accurately predicted erectile length.â Or another way to put it, there are "growers" and there are "showers" but they could very well be the same length in the end.
A study published in the International Journal of Impotence Research found the average length in their study of men to be, drum roll, 5.3 inches!
Another study, this time done by a condom company(LifeStyles Condoms) found the average to be 5.9 inches.
Put 'em together and you get about the average in Georgia59's post.
Then there's the actual part of measuring. There are a lot of wrong ways to gain a measurement and some, such as the porn industry, like to employee these methods to make their actors seem bigger.
I saw in one porno video a woman take a ruler and place it along side the penis. This made his penis seem bigger, due to the body slanting inward, allowing him to add 1-2 inches that aren't there!
Other measuring techiques include measuring from under the penis by the balls. This, again, adds inches that won't be going inside a woman. So why bother counting what isn't usable penis?
This also explains why when penis studies are done by asking the males to write in, it tends to be higher, either through incorrect measuring techiques or just plain adding a bit on, most likely.
The important thing is to measure the actual usable penis. You know, the part that goes inside a woman.
Alright, alright, now you're like: Fine Mr Know It All, how DO you measure properly? I was an insecure teen once(That grew up into a mostly secure adult male;)) but instead of trolling on enlargement sites that gave me false information I decided to go look up what people who spent time in, ya know, medical school thought.
So here you go from actual MDs, such as Dr Harold Reed(1), Alan Greene MD(2), Dr Hunter Wessells(3) and Dr Luisa Dillner(4).
The proper way to measure your penis is with a ruler on the top. Press the ruler gently against the pubic bone, to depress the pad of fat. If you have any type of curve, straighten it out against the ruler, if possible.
To measure the girth, try using a cloth measuring tape.
That's how you properly measure your usable penis(what actually enters during intercourse).
Also, for any guys out there with some extra weight looking for a good reason to drop it. Losing the weight will help to reveal more of your penis making it not only look bigger when not erect but giving you more usable penis length as well(Don't have to push against all the fat during penetration).
I hope that clears up some confusion or just makes some people happy out there.
If you're still worried about making your girl happy after reading all that, I have this bit of advice for you: The clit is on the front and the g spot is normally found about two inches in from the opening of the vagina, on the anterior wall (toward the stomach). Keep in mind, this varies slightly from woman to woman, along with it's size, so don't be afraid to ask for a little help in locating it. Also some women don't care for it, while other's do. Ask.
And for all you basketball fans out there, I'll throw this one out. It's like comparing Mugsy Boggs(5â3") to Shawn Bradley(7'6"). Sure Bradley was taller, but Mugsy Boggs knew how to use his skills and got the job done, while Bradley was just tall and clumsy.
Remember, the goal is for you to both orgasm. Use your whole tool box.
