Ok..

my dad recently aquired a management position at the warehouse he works at in Orlando.. well.. He wants to hire Rob into management training and me as his part time assistant. Rob would be getting almost $200 extra a WEEK than he gets now (now he gets around $650 if he doesnt work overtime.) There he'd be getting 10 hours overtime (Rob LOVES overtime) and would earn a lot more money. They have KILLER benefits. (we'd be paying $47 a week for full coverage for all 4 of us including dental and vision and no co-pays through Humana) They also will be paying for our moving expenses and setting us up in corporate housing at an condominium complex in Downtown Orlando, and with his employee discount rent would only be $885 a month for a 2 bedroom 2 bath and we dont pay the condo fees. ANOTHER AWESOME THING.. they give us an option of lease to own.. and after a year we can use every penny we put towards rent to buy the place as a down payment.

AND AND AND

Rob got the Talon running last night! (Very Happy <--- thats my giddy face) So we wont have a car payment. AND my mom said she would watch the kids so i dont have to worry about daycare people leaving bruises on the kids like they did to my god daughter.

SO

It all boils down to wanting to move back to Orlando. Robs job keeps cutting his hours here, and because of that its getting hard to pay bills. Its starting to cut REALLY close. i refuse to move back to the in-laws. i wont. This seems like such a good oportunity and i dunno if we should pass it up.

Any advice??

I would go for it. We were going to move further south before we decided to do the baby-making thing. It was either going to be Mobile or somewhere in Florida.

Sounds like a wonderful opportunity though. I need some of that money my way.

If you think it's a chance at a better life, Sandra, then go for it. But I just wanna remind you of how much you were complaining about Orlando before. & How you said you refused to raise your babies in that kind of environment. Just think about it hard. You guys have already moved back & forth quite a few times. Just think long & hard. I wouldn't want you to go back only to be reminded of why you left in the first place.

It is a crappy place to raise a family. But, if you were making that much, you should be able to afford private school. have you looked at the school zoning to see which public school they would go to?

You also have to remember, even if the place downtown is really nice (which most are) It is still downtown....even if they are trying to clean it up. Plus they have all that construction.

it sounds like a great opportunity to me, but i'm sure we don't know every single little detail. just think about it before you make any hasty decisions. i'm sure you'll do what's best for your family.

congrats!

oh, and no car payment is awesome!

It sounds like a great opportunity. I would check out to be sure that Rob could have you as his assistant. A lot of businesses frown on people directly supervising family members or friends. Not to mention it could cause some rifts at home too. I couldn't imagine Mike being my boss or being his boss. You really don't ever get the time away from eachother that you really need.

Also, you were not happy living in Fla. You had a lot of issues with your mom and from what I remember it was not a real safe place for you or your kids.

I would be so happy to not have a car payment. Yea for that

Good luck whatever you decide.

lol i know i hate moving.. especially cross-country.

and i wouldnt be living with my parents.. never again. To be honest my mom and i Have gotten along better the last 3 months than we ever have in our entire lives.

Robs got an interview Monday at a place where he'd be making the same he is now (per hour anyway.. its a salary job and it computes to 3 cents more per hour) so hopefully all goes well and we wont have to move.

I just see it as going where its best for my family. If thats the only place we can go where Rob can have a job making enough money to support the family then i dont know what else i can do.

Christy.. the condo is in the heart of DownTown.. right on Lake Eola. So its a good part of Orlando.. but the construction with the Vue going up and all is gunna be a pain.

All in all i see it as a good opportunity. Cindy i would be my dads assistant. They have a good family policy there. The main managers wife is HIS secretary and his son works in receiving. So its ok ^_^
