Q: Anyone Else Have Tattoos On Their Bellys
asked by: Rosie H on January 10th, 2008

Hey does anyone have any tattoos? I have a sea turtle on my hip that is as wide and as long as my entire hand. Its right where my underwear is. And I have a blue and gold macaw on my other hip. The head of the bird in just below my braw strap (on my side) and the tail ends at my knee.

What happened to your tattoos once your belly started to grow. What happened to them after you gave birth? Will strecth marks ruin the ink and/or tattoo. Will you still be able to tell what it is?

Really, it all depends on how much weight you gain.

If you gain 60lbs your a lil more likely to get stretchmarks and stretch your tatts.
But if you gain 20-30lbs, you MIGHT not get them.

I gained 60 for my 1st and got TORE up by stretchmarks. I gained 25 for this one and STILL got stretchmarks.

It's genetic really. NO amount of cream/oil will prevent stretchmarks. If your mom got them, you're likely to get them.

Do you have any pics of your tatts? The McCaw tatt sounds AWESOME!!

I think Arcadia has two tattoos there. I do as well but I have never been pregnant so i am not much help. I know they will stretch throughout but I have no idea how they will be after the pregnancy.

Katie has a star and an anchor, I believe, on her pelvic bone/hip area... so far they're looking good.

I have pictures and I will try to post them. I just got my macaw finished too. I have spent at least 350.00 on my tats. Well only those two, I have a few more. But I Think my turtle will stretch the most. Its gonna be this huge elongated sea turtles swimming in seaweed. Haha.

Hey Rosie.. I really hate to be the bearer of bad news.. But my tats got pretty butchered. I have handguns on each side of my stomach. Right on my hipbones, pretty much. I got really really huge & I got REALLY horrible stretchmarks. So now, I have stretchmarks going through them & they look really wrinkled. I hope you are luckier!

I have a tattoo on my belly & it didn't stretch at all during pregnancy. I only got a couple of stretch marks, & luckily they were below my tattoo.. but I hardly got a bump at all. I hope you're lucky like I was!

here are my tattoos. The macaw is not completly fnished in this picture. I have gotten the rest of its tail finished. That reaches to my upper knee. But my turtles is my favorite. The picture for my profile is Daniel and I on a camping trip.

About 1/4 of my body is tattooed right now, and 1 of them is right on my tummy. Through 4 pregnancies now, and about 100lbs gain and loss, and no stretchmarks on it, pretty sure it varries from person to person.
