name is peter and was recently (as in 3
months ago) diagnosed with bipolar
disorder. It's been hard with the
medications - epival and lithium, mixed in
with clonazepam for the social anxiety.
But i'm a trooper and doing my best to
continue to the best of my ability.
Interested if anyone has done much
research into nutritional supplementation
and bipolar disorder. I understand omega
3 oils are a possibility?

There are many natural supplements for
mood disorders/mental diseases etc. You
need to do a little research via google or
yahoo etc asking for example what natural
drugs, natural therapies, etc assist in
reducing symptoms of bi-polar?
I would look into say "smart tabs" , dhea,
5htp , sam-e as a starter.

Welcome to the forum. Even though it is
not your club of choice, it is a very good
idea to get as knowledgable as possible.
Your best bet to start with, is to go back
through the forum and pull up topics that
sound familiar or interesting to you and
read up on what other here have had to
say.
And remember, be an active participant in
your treatment. Keep a journal of
physical and mental symptoms to take with
you to your doctors appointments. Always
make a list of questions to ask the
doctor, if you don't have a list, ask him
what you should be asking about. If you
have a good doctor he or she will be happy
to discuss things with you or give you
some reading.
