Have any of you had this procedure? I am debating having it done for heavy periods. However, the more I look online, the side effects and recovery might not be worth it to me. I would appreciate any input from people who have had it done.

Do you beleive in God? Do you go to church? I only ask this because a friend of mine had this done and it didnt stop her bleeding. Her cramps and pain lessoned but it did not solve her problem. She has tried everything. In the last 5 years she has had 2 surgerys and countless doctor visits. No one had an answer.

She received a healing from her church for her bleeding and it stopped. She hasnt bled since. After 5 years of pain and suffering, the power of God healed her.

I dont mean to preach. But your story reminded me of hers

I haven't had it, but have you considered other options like birth control pills?

Have you tried hormonal birth control? It works wonders for lightening your periods (even with fibroids!). I cannot take hormones though - so eventually may opt for ablation.

What other options has your GYN suggested?

I don't want to take birth control pills. I don't want to have to remember them every day and when I took them back in my 20's, they made me nauseus. It's not worth it at 39 years old!! My GYN suggested either the pill or the ablasion. He made it sound like the ablasion wasn't a big deal and it would REALLY help. I completely trust him but just wanted to get some opinions from people who have actually had it done - since he's a man Smile

Nuvaring? I mean, if you don't want to do birth control that's fine, but there's some kinds now that are really nice. The ring you only think about twice a month and it has a low amount of hormones.

Anyway, sorry, I haven't had the procedure. Sorry I can't help more!

I just had a IUD and they say it won't stop everything...I guess nothing makes this horible thing go away not even hystarectomy...it's funny how some diseases kill you and some make you wish they would..

I had ablation and also hormone therapy (Danazole) for six months afterwards. I felt better than I had for years and I lost 14 pounds as well, because of feeling much more energetic.

The endo did come back eventually but it was not very troublesome.

I would recommend it.
