Q: Ms or Pilonial dimples causing falling ?

Ok, I have been having problems for years, and they seem to have got worse over the years. As I get older, I have been having a harder time walking, and fall down often. I started asking my doctor about it a couple of years back, and he sent me to a specialist. I had lots of nerve tests, 4 MRI's one of my head that showed leasions on my brain, and a spinal tap. I was also born with Pilonidal (Sacral) Dimples. My biggest problem is the fact that when I sleep for the night, I have to sit around for 10 or so minutes before I can walk. If I don't I will fall on my face. I fall down the stairs about once a week, and have knocked myself out do to it.

I guess my question is does this sound like MS or my Pilonial Dimps as the cause, it cost me 1400 dollars last time at the doctor and all they say is come back in 6 months?

Lesions on your brain scan sounds like MS to me. Your weakness and falls also sound like MS. Have you been to a neurologist? I was diagnosed ten years ago with MS. Please contact a neurologist, bring copies of your MRI amd the reports.
If you have MS there is a lot of support for you and thee are many steps you can take to help maintain a better daily life.
Good luck and keep me posted.
God Bless you.

Ya, the neurologist was who had me do the MRI's, and Spinal Tap. But I have not been back to see him in a year. I have been trying to avoid going to see them due to the cost, but I am starting to worry that I may need to go back to him, and ask more questions. Like is it common to have muscle spasams that last for more then 24 hours? I get one in my left leg that once it starts it keeps going for that long. Also I have now hurt my shoulder from falling down the stairs and trying to catch myself.

You saw a neurologist over a year ago and they observed lesions on the brain MRI and said what? Did they tell you that you have MS? and what type? You really need to go back. If you didn't like that one find another one, bring all the old results with you because they can compare the old MRI to new MRIs to see changes.
Yes, the spasms and definitely the falls can be a sign. Perhaps there could be another reason but you need to go back. IN the mean time please use a cane to help you keep your balance so that you don't continue to hurt yourself with falls.

What is your age if you don't mind me asking?

I am almost 36. The neurologist that I saw, said that I had the start of MS, but he wanted to wait to see if it progresses. I live in the midwest and went to a place called CNOS. I first went to him to see if he could tell me why my legs were always feeling like they had the static from an old tv trying to get out of them, and why My right foot felt like I was walking on a spring board. Well, he did lots of tests like nerve stimulation, MRI's of my legs, back, neck, and head. All he did was come in when we were all done and say "have you ever heard of MS" he said that he found some lesions on my brain and showed me the X-Ray. (Like I knew What he was showing me) He then said that well maybe I just have virus and to come back in 6 months. It cost me 1400 dollars, so I never went back. How could I have a virus for several years, it was real insulting to me. My wife has been pushing me to go back and see them too, but I just wanted to wait so that they cant just take me for money again.
