This is a folow-up story about the zoo
that refused to hand-rear the cubs of a
captive polar bear mother. Now she's eaten
the cubs.
I was completely on the side of "it's
stupid not to raise them!" initially, but
after reading this very unbiased article I
am now on the fence.

Wow, that's an interesting dilemma!
Like the article said, a zoo is not a
natural environment in the first place so
why should they be overly concerned about
letting Nature take its course when it
comes to the lives of the animals? Either
we, as people, need to stop destroying
other animals' habitat and leave them free
to live as Nature intends or we
take responsibility for the fact we keep
these animals in zoos out of guilt and for
our own amusement and do everything we can
do ensure each one of them is given the
chance to live.
