Hi, I'm new here and looking for some help. I have had symptoms of carpal tunnel for about two years off and on. I've seen an orthopedic surgeon for this and the carpal tunnel syndrome is managable but however I"ve had growing problems lately waking up and my ring and pinky fingers being numb.

I've made an effort to sleep with my arms straight but I'm afraid i'm still putting too much force on my elbow some way during the night causing the nerve to react.

Right now, the only symptom of carpal tunnel or ulnar nerve problems i have is at night. How do I help to correct this before it gets worse, does any one have any suggestions?

I also have this problem,I have numbness in both hands(ring fingers & pinkys)all the way up the inside of my forearm to my elbows,my numbness is constant and at night I wake up and both of my hands(all fingers & thumb) are completely numb in fact it's so bad that when my alarm goes off some mornings I can't even grab the alarm to shut it off,my kids have to come and shut it off for me.It has gotten so bad that it is affecting my ability to work,(I am the head cook at a school)and I know that it's from my job(I've been a cook for 11 yrs.)I had a test done last year I don't remember the name of it but it was VERY painful, they inserted these long needles all the way through my fingers and hand and arm all the way up to my elbow and sent electrical currents and shocks through them.Through this test they were able to diagnose my carpal tunnel,I've been living with it for now because I've heard horror stories about surgery not working and sometimes making it worse.I will check w/my dr. and see if I can find out what the name of that test was,I know it's painful, but for me it was worth it because now mine has gotten so bad that the numbness is constant I have absolutely no feeling in my ring and pinky fingers on both hands, the reason that I had this test done was because I am also a diabetic and thought at first that it was nerve damage, but like I said it is CTS.
