Q: Post Op Appt
asked by: fairytale007 on January 8th, 2008

I have to go in for a post op (d & c) appt tomorrow (technically today). I hope everything is a okay.

I had blood drawn on Friday to see if there were any more hormones left in my body, and the nurse said that if there wasn't then they would just call me. But today the nurse assistant called and said it was "very important" for me to call her back. So I did and they said I needed to come in tomorrow.

Sorry for the ramble. I can't help but worry that something is wrong again.

I'm back. Everything is okay from the surgery and everything. But I guess at my surgery my platelts were 70,000 and as of Friday they had dropped all the way down to 37,000. Shocked So she referred me to a hematologist and I have an appt on Friday.

The platelets help your blood clot and if they're really low then it can't clot properly in case of a cut or something. That's all I really know about them.

Oh man!! Hopefully they can just give you a pill to bring them back up! I hope nothing serious comes from it!!

Stay away from sharp objects for the time being! LOL!

But I'm glad everything else went well!!

i have that same problem right now, actually.. mine dropped to 43,000 last Thursday.

Amy are you taking ANY medicines? Theres a longgggggggg list of ones that make platelets drop, and it even includes tylenol (acetaminophen) and naproxen (Aleve) and ibuprofen plus lots of other drugs. Let me know if u want the list.

Nope, I'm not taking anything. My mom and I looked up ITP and one of the symptoms is red bumps, and I never noticed that that's what I have on my legs. I've had it forever, my legs are covered in them. We'll see Friday what he says.
