Anyone know anything about this?

It has a wiki page and a few internet groups devoted to it, but not too much info.

It's not FDA approved and is only available from India. About $50 for a year's supply, according to other forums. The info I can find about it suggests that it is just as effective as the pill and has less of the hormonal side effects and risks.

But I'm getting so desperate, I'm thinking about it. Sounds like a dream come true.

I should add- the particular things I'm wondering-

Can I use it even though I'm not supposed to use estrogen-based pills (because of the stroke risk/migraines)

I do realize it has some side effects- but not weight gain/acne/nausea, which are the particular ones I've experienced on hormonal birth control

It will not regulate your periods.

It will infact cause them to be highly irregular.

ALTHOUGH Saheli is NOT hormonal, it DOES AND WILL AFFECT YOUR HORMONES.

It is an ANTI ESTROGEN, so it can cause hot flashes and other effects in women.

I studied this because I could not use hormones, and it seems bad from my point of view.

HI Georgia, I read a lot about it, and I am getting some communication from my friend who has collegues in India, but nothing definitive yet. Give me a couple of days max and see if he can get any info from his coworkers.

It's actually not something that I would take...

The anti estrogen properties give you menopausal effects like hot flashes, mood swings, and similar other problems.

Yep, I did read that, and the online groups I saw said that that was pretty common for the first few months.

I'm weighing it against what I'm dealing with now- having my period ALL THE TIME and pms, bloating, ick....
