Everyone has different opinions on this. I myself do think it's ok to let them cry for a bit as long as they aren't hysterical. As far as where they'll sleep, well, my oldest son would only sleep good with me, or in his car seat, so I let him sleep there. No harm in letting her sleep in the bouncy chair ^^.
