Bloated and dull pain and pressure in abdomen Posted: 01-07-08 14:19pm
Dec 12 I went to see my Dr. about having
to pee during the day alot, plus a deep
burning/pain after sex and sometimes after
peeing. The Dr done some test's and gave
me some bectirum(sp?) and Detrol LA.. this
seemed to clear everything up and all was
fine until a couple of days before
Christmas (25th) I started to get pressure
in my abdomen kinda like gas.. so I just
wrote it off as Gas. Well the night on the
25th I awoke with a pain in my abdomen
area (kinda like a bowel movement but a
little more painful) that even hurt the
head of my penis...but after just a few
seconds the pain was gone and I was back
to sleep and never thought about it until
I had a bowel movement on the 26th which I
had bright red blood after I wiped. So I
tried GasX but it did not help and now I
still feel pressure in my left ab plus
sometime I feel like I'm very bloated.
anyway I went to see my DR on the 1st of
Jan. and they have a Colonoscopy setup for
me on the 8th. Does anybody else have this
problem?? I still have bowel movements
some loose and some normal. Also after I
have wiped like on the 29th and 4th I have
seen a little blood. Also after eating I
seem to belch alot more and also can't eat
as much.
btw I'm 35 years old.

Are you prone to have more loose stools in
the morning?
What's the frequency of you bowel
movements?
Do you usually get constipated?
Do you feel a strong urge to have a bowel
movement?
Have you noticed that abdominal pain and
cramping go away after having a bowel
movement?

My Colonoscopy went good, eveything looked

but still waiting on the test results to
get back, also I had diverticulitis.

I was suspecting you may have IBS due to
your symptoms, but as the colonoscopy
showed the diverticulitis is the reason
for them. Mild cramps, bloating,
constipation are symptoms that one with
diverticulosis can have and are similar to
symptoms of IBS.
The most common sign is tenderness around
the left side of the lower abdomen, like
you have experienced and also, it can be
due to constipation in IBS patient.
I hope your results will be ok.
Please, share them as soon as you get
them!
All best to you!
