Q: Unprotected sex 5 weeks after delivery

I know I posted a bullitan a little similar to this one earlier in the week, but now I have more to add.

I just had a baby on November 28 and I had unprotected sex on January 1st and I think I started my period 2 days ago. I stopped bleeding four weeks after I had him, is it possible to start your period so fast after you have a baby? I'm also breastfeeding if that makes a difference. Could I be pregnant even if I did start my period? Did I even start my period or could I have stopped bleeding and then just start back up again?
Do I still need to take a pregnancy test in two weeks? Please help!!!

Never have unprotected sex unless you want a baby. Never.

Is it possible? Absolutely. Wait a couple of weeks and take a pregnancy test.

You shouldn't have been having sex. You SHOULDN'T be having sex, protected or unprotected, this close to your L&D.

If you started your period, you're most likely not pregnant. Get a test in early February to be sure (it wouldn't show positive this early).

I don't need to be told that I don't need to have sex, all I want is an answer. I'm already scared, I don't need to be lectured and told what I should or should not do, I already know that I shouldn't have, but this is a thing for TEEN pregnancy, none of us should be having sex, but obviously we are and this is for TEENS to ask questions on pregnancy. SO if you have something negative to say, save it, keep it to yourself, because even though I did have sex, I feel stupid for doing it, I regret it, and even though you might not believe it, but I didn't want to, he kind of forced me too.

You asked if you could be pregnant, and I answered you truthfully. Wait a couple of weeks and take a test. You should also talk to your doctor about birth control options.

If he raped you, you need to report it to the police.

Good luck.

Um...darling...I said you shouldn't be having sex because you can get a deadly uterine infection from intercourse during the post-partum period, not for any moral how-do-you I may have.

As far as Aya's statement on rape, I agree. If he forced you, don't let it slide legally.

She had the baby on Nov 28...she had sex Jan first...that is almost six weeks...a little over a week shy of six weeks. Doctors recommend waiting at least six weeks after having a baby before resuming sexual intercourse. Some doctors okay it as early as four weeks. Please be sure to check dates and get facts straight. Thanks Smile

These are really old posts. The OP in most of them is no longer here anymore and by now, their questions have long since been answered. Please stick to recent posts, thanks!
