We just flew up towards a cop this morning going ten over... no response. 10 over isn't a huge crime, but often that'll get you pulled over. So I'm agreeing with Aya. But there's only so many police officers...

I definitely agree that police shouldn't all be monitoring roads when there are other serious crimes happening. I'm not sure what the solution would be. More police? A seperate department solely for transportation law enforcement? Would that require more tax dollars? Would the voters agree to that? I just don't know. But I don't believe doing away with limits is the solution, not in the slightest.

at the present our departement is 38 positions short. I think we need more cops but that is different state to state im sure

It Is Not Drivers
Posted: 01-07-08 20:31pm

going too fast, but those who are the reckless drivers cutting in and out of traffic, sometimes at high speed that eventually get nailed or else cause accidents which kill other people. Everybody pretty much knows you can get away with driving 7 miles over the speed limit. Just keep tuned to the road and the traffic around you.

I agree with AyaMiyaki, when as a driver, you obviously see things a lot more important than somebody laying a speed trap, or having to stop people to see if they paid their registration tax, their time would be better served elsewhere. Let's face it, traffic fines are a great source of income for them.

I'm glad NY has a no-cellphone law. Florida doesn't and it frightens me O.o

I drive and talk on my cell all the time.

But I should clarify- I drive two hours a day and most of the is through the country.

I never text and drive, though, that really scares me.

I think new drivers shouldn't be allowed to talk and drive, but once you've been driving for a few years, in my opinion, it's ok if you're smart about it.

I honestly think I drive fine when I'm on the phone, but like I said, I drive a lot and it gets lonely and boring. Straight roads for miles.... no one else.....

I think if there are laws about phones and driving there should be laws about eating, reading, changing the CD, disciplining your children, searching for the binkie in the back seat, pumping milk for baby, etc etc.

Isn't it called "Farting" when women are putting on makup at lights? I'm not kidding; I have heard this used!! It may be spelled pharting. It's not a read word obviously and it probably hardly ever gets written down so it may not actually HAVE a spelling!

PS: Yes, I know what "fart" actually means.

Because I moved an hour away from where I go to school (my hubby got a job and we had to go where the money was) so I'm just driving a lot for the last of my education. But I don't mind it so much, it gets to the point where it's relaxing.
