Q: discussing masturbation ?

Dose your spouses/significant other know that you masturbate? I realize that it is completely natural and almost everyone does it but do you discuss it with your spouse/s.o.? My husband and I have never discussed it, though I'm sure he does, and I certainly do as well. I know its a silly question, but I was just wondering if it was normal for couples to discuss and/or acknowledge masturbating.

He knows that I do it. He encourages it actually. If we make love and I'm not able to finish, he'll encourage me to finish myself. Same goes with if he's giving me oral and I just can't quite get over the edge. Usually he's pretty good at getting me off, but if things aren't working right, he knows that would be the next best way for me to finish since he's only known my body for a year and a half but I've known mine for 20 years.

We just make it into a healthy part of our relationship I suppose

Duh... My ex-fiancee knew I masturbated often, even while we were dating and engaged. We talked about it on occasion, and even used web-cams to masturbate together when we were away.

I would say it is important to discuss masturbation! It is an activity you can do together and it is part o a healthy sex life.

Like I said, I know its a silly question, but the other day I almost got caught in the act when my husband got home early. I was so worried about whether or not he suspected anything! I know that is so stupid! I should have been like "excuse me babe kinda busy". Anyways, I don't know why it embarresses me so much but I should just get over it!

I was actually embarrased to tell my SO that I have never done so before I met him. I felt pathedic because I couldn't. He was actually the one to encourge me to "discover" myself and learn how. Now 7 years and one child later, which who was conceived with the help of knowing myself because more Os equal better chances, I'm still not as good as he is but I'm sure I'll get there.

Besides it is really different between the two. Wink

Getting pregnant. I was watching a program the other day that talked about this. They said there is a slightly better chance of becoming pregnant if you have an orgasm during the act of intercourse. Tho having an orgasm is not necessary to become pregnant. Just that orgasm slightly increases the chance. Tho I have 3 kids and did not have an orgasm during the act of intercourse each time I conceived.

Oh forgot to answer the main question. Yes my husband knows I masturbate and like wise I know he does because we have talked about it. But no we do not masturbate in front of each other. I say if we are in front of each other we might as well have sex.

Before anyone jumps on this, she does have a valid scientific point.

For many women, during orgasm the vagina shortens and the cervix descends, bringing it closer to the tip of the penis and dipping deeply into the deposited semen, thus possibly increasing the amount that gets inside etc etc.

Sorry. The more orgasms you have the better the chance of you getting pregnant.

Actually yes it potentially could. Did you read what I wrote above? Orgasm causes many changes in the vagina, including causing the vagina to shorten and the cervix to dip down, dipping into the sperm, thus increasing the chances they will get inside and cause pregnancy.

isnt the contraction of the muscles suppose to help the sperm along too? It makes sense suzy the guy has to orgasm to let out the sperm so why would a females orgasm help conceive?

My husbands in Iraq so we have dirty phone conversations. lol. when hes home he prefers to do it for me so if i threaten ill do it myself I fet whatever I want.

Seriously he's mad! How can I explain to him? Geez i'm just a big idot for trying to be open about it. Lele, think it out before you tell yours. I should've done the same. it was kinda impulse. I thought mine would've been okay with it. He totally not!

That isn't cool that he isn't okay with it. Just explain to him that how can you expect to be pleased by him, if you can't please yourself...

You should be able to tell him and he should be able to accept it. Does he masturbate?
