I am a little concerned that my 8 month old little guy has elevated liver enzymes. Let me give you some info, he was adopted from russia, and has been tested for all forms of hepatitis. All of his blood work comes back negative for hepatitis a,b,c. But when he had his exit phyical his liver was inflamed. So when we returned home we took him to his pedi, and had all of the necessary blood work to rule out anything serious. His liver is functioning fine, just the enzymes are slightly elevated. I am really curious and concerned...So if anyone has a clue to what could cause
this please help this concerned mama out.

Thanks

Elevated Liver Enzymes In 8 Month Old
Hi. Did you ever find out the reason for your son having elevated liver enzymes? My daughter is 8 months old and has had two blood tests that indicate elevated liver enzymes. The doctor wants her to be tested again in a couple of weeks. At this time he won't tell me what problems may be the cause. He said we'll discuss it after her next blood test. I am worried sick. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

So sorry I rarely come to this board. My son's enymes are now at a normal level. His elevation was atttributed to poor nutrition in the orphanage in russia as well as poor water quality. I hope your Dr. Eases your mind soon. I wish you and your baby the best.
