Wink hi
i just gave up on the pill after two months because I couldn't stand it. My gynecologist kept telling me the side effects would go away after the 4th month, but seriously it was too much, I thought I was gonna die. Here are some of the side effects I experienced plz post yours too:
*pain in the ovaries* (the worst pain i've had in my entire life) it felt as if someone was stabbing me with a sharp knife gosh I dont even wanna remember.
*anxiety* I even made an appt with a pshyc. So he would prescribe some anxiety pills
*panic attacks* and, as a result irregular heart beat
*depression*
*bloating*
*mood swings*
*severe headaches* every single day
*acne* I swear it got worse with the pill, I had those big nasty ones that leave scars
and the worst of all:
*chest pain * da*n this was bad (is).... Omg this is where I felt I was gonna die, I thought I was gonna have a heart attack seriously. Every single day, I would get these severe chest pains on my left side and they hurt like h*** this is my 10th day after I stopped taking the pill and I only get little pain or discomfort but thank god it is mostly gone.
Anyways, thank you for listening I really needed to vent.
Please post yours, thanks Smile

You should have switched pills. Most side effects do go away after the third month, but when they are severe your doctor is suppose to switch you before that. All you would have had to do is put your foot down and tell your doctor that the side effects from that particular pill were too severe and that you wanted to switch.
Maybe you should get a new doctor.

Hi yeah you are right about changing pills but he got mad and insisted on me waiting for another 2 months. I would have waited, but as I said I felt horrible. And at the same time, I am afraid of going through the same side effects with another pill. I dont know what to do. I think i'm gonna change doctors, even though he seemed pretty knowledgeable. Thanks for your response hotasfrick I appreciate it :d

He could be a very good doctor and he could be very knowledgeable, but it sounds to me like you need a doctor to work for you! I mean, you are paying him and there is not reason for you to have to suffer like that. They do say that if you get small side effects, like cramping or mild headaches that you should wait the full three months. But if they are very bothersome, then there is not reason for you to suffer.
There are, however, few women out there who cannot take the pill because their body rejects the hormones. There is a user here, but I forger her name, who has that problem. So, it could be that. But, then again it could simply be that you need a different pill. So, good luck with whatever you try and I am sorry you have had to suffer like this.

Rejecting hormones? I didn't know about that... Hmm im worried, and yeah you are right, I must go to another doctor but the thing is that, the waiting time for an appt. Is around 4 months Shocked soooo better be patient lol. The weird thing is that, I was taking orthotri cyclen lo and its supposed to have like small amounts of hormones or something like that, right? So now i'm worried that a higher one is gonna be worse. Anyways, I hope that this new Dr. Will understand me better and figure out what's wrong. I'll keep posting, and again thanks k :d

Good god, four months. That is insane. I can get into the doctor in a week. Can you call a "clinic" like a family planning type place? They are the best for this kind of thing because this is all they do. Ortho trycyclen lo has low hormones, but the regular kind has "regular hormones" but aside from that, there are so many different kinds. I mean, if you need low estrogen then their are pills for that, but if not there are so many other ones. Try to get into a doctor with a shorter waiting period :d that is just crazy!!!!
But seriously, my doctor has a book that lists the different b/c pills and the side effects. If you have a specific side effect it lists what to change to. All doctors should have this same book, so it is worth a shot.

Hi
yeah 4 months can you imagine!!! And its at least four... Hey one week I cant believe it lol they su*k here for that, and its the same for a dentist, or any other doctor. If its a dentist, and you have a toothache well poor you because you're gonna have to wait around 2 months, if not you can say its an emergency and they are gonna charge you like Shocked lol. Back to the subject, they do have a planned parenthood clinic here. Do you think they would be able to help me there? That book is interesting, im getting mad again at the doctor I still cant believe he got mad when I told him about the side effects! Mad ok... Im gonna call that clinic and see what happens while I get an appointment. Thanks hotasfrick. Wink

If you have migraines during your period and you are on the pill then you need to switch pills. That is one of the first things they ask you upon check ups. If you cannot find a pill that does not give you migraines then you need to go off of the pill.
Most doctors recommend that you stop taking the pill in your 30's as risk of stroke and heart problems gets higher.
There is no need to change your way of eating. Just change pills. If you are not on the pill and still get migraines, well then go ahead and try being a vegetarian. But it is in no way necessary.
