Q: Diarreha Then Months of Upset Stomach?

Hello,

i am a 33 year old male. Back in january I had a really bad stomach bug that had me sitting on the toilet all night. Ya know how when you are throwing up, it comes in waves? Well I had the same thing out the other end.

After the diarreha stopped, my stomach did not feel right. It is usually discomfort right above my belly button, in the center of my stomach. Gurgling sometimes occurs too.

It has been a couple months now and it is still occuring on a regular basis. I have had a liver ultrasound and a endoscopy. The endoscopy only foound minor esophagus irritation. The doc gave me nexium, but it does not seem to be helping.

I thought it may be all the splenda I have been ingesting on my low carb diet, so I am cutting that out to see. I don't think that is it though. Rolling Eyes

does this sound like anythinganyone out there has experienced?

i presume your gp/md has ruled out a re-growth of the bacteria the tarted your current problems?

If so the original problem may have triggered the on-set of irritable owel syndrome (ibs).

Symptoms of ibs vary, but include the ones you describe.

My suggestions would be:

- minimising your sugary food intake
- avoid eating too many dairy products, with the exception of good acteria rich products
- drinking peppermint tea has a calming affect in the stomach and bowel
- slightly green banana's are also very good
- activated charcoal tablets may also help to a degree
- increasing your non-green veggie intake is worth considering along with easily digested foods such as rice.

Thanks for the info.

The only thing is I am very regular. I have a bm every morning at the same time.

The diarreha stopped months ago.

Does it still sound like ibs?

If so, is it curable?

Stomach Upset And Diarreha
I am 31 female an have had nausea and diarreha for over 3 years. It is progressivlly getting worse. I've been put on prevacid ,protonix ,zantac75 and it only dulls the nausea once in a while,my gast. Doc did ultrasound and upper gi but every thing looked ok I have been checked for h-phylori 4 times and they r now checking my stools. I want them to do a endescope and I am going to demand one when I go back in july. It is really tiresome to be sick every day . Oh and I quit drinking alcohol thinking that would help, it didnt about the only thing that I see helping is no food and drink for ever. So I know what ur going through and I hope the docs can fix us. Do u experience any bloating cuz I do fairly often and I still get it even though I dont drink milk Question if ya find anything that helps let me know too please :d

Diarreha Then Months of Upset Stomach?
You could be suffering from amoebiasis. Do you have a sensation of urgency when you have the urge to pass stool? Do you have a tendency to go stool after a meal? Even after passing stool do you feel it is incomplete? Any mucus in the stool? Any flatulence or gas downwards? Does the pain you are talking about around the area of the umbilicus get better on passing stool?
Do all these symptoms get worse on intake of any particular food?
How is your appetite, thirst, urination, bowel movement, perspiration, sleep etc.?
Have you undergone investigations including a stool examination and a stool culture too?
The above details will help in narrowing down on a homeopathic medicine which has the capacity to cure such ailments easily. Common medicines like nux vom, merc, merc cor, sulph, aloes, colocynth are good to treat such disturbances.
I am sure homeopathic medicine would be of help to you.

Are you going alot with the poops? Is there any blood in them? Have you had a stool sample test? If not I highly reccommend it! Have you had any antibiotics in the last 2 years?

Diarrhea, Narrow Stool,etc
Hi dmh
yes I poop a lot. I have found blood in my stool, they didn't do a stool test but I am having a colonoscopy and endonoscopy on the 9th.
I haven't taken any antibiotics that I can recall.

Hi unlucky,

well is it loose stools ? Do you have any cramps? I would ask your doctor to give you a stool sample and check for something called c. Difficile. It has the same charecteristics. It is curable by antibiotics but only a specific antibiotic. If you could get the test done before the 9th if it comes back postitive maybe you won't have to get the colonoscopy. You just poop in a container bring it in and they test it. Let me know.

Good to Know
I am 20 years old and have had the same thing as you "unlucky" for about a year now.. the only thing that helps is if I dont eat until I am so hungry and have pooped a lot. The stools are the same as what you described. Thanks for the heads up.
