If you want you can make a list on paper of symptoms that you experienced, so it will help your memory, and bring it to the psychologist.

Oh good. Maybe if you write down what you want to tell the psychologist ahead of time, that will help.

It's too bad your sister doesn't understand. She doesn't sound very old/mature/understanding. Don't worry, most people wouldn't react that way.

i just read all of your posts. great you went to see a doctor. read up about whatever they might think you have. talk to your parents all the way, support is very important (that's my experience). crucial. and take it easy. everything is going to be all right. you have to want to be well, you know. so, that should be your aim. Smile
listen to them and talk about all the changes. especially if you aren't getting better! get you parents very involved!

don't worry about the insensitive ones for a second. you'll deal with them later Smile. life will deal with them.. don't be scared to speak about some stuff you find to be too scared of (to the doctor, i mean). i hope you will get better soon! and then kick your sister's butt. Smile

check with your parents? a cup of warm milk and a teaspoon of honey before going to bed.. wear yourself out the whole day, and you'll sleep like a baby. or read in bed. Smile take it easy! find some nice doc to talk to about this too, if it's really an issue.

I think for now, use natural things to help yourself sleep (warm milk, etc. is nice) and behavioral things. When you talk to the therapist, you can tell him/her that you are having trouble sleeping and they'll give you something if you need it. Also, make sure your environment is nice and dark for an hour before you go to bed, and you aren't eating/exercising, etc.

SLeeping medications are pretty addictive, and you don't want to use them without the help of a doctor.

Perhaps it could be related to epilepsy. I read something to that effect on the internet, but I don't remember what anymore.

Seizure activity can cause some pretty interesting things to occur with people. You will need to see a neurologist and have an EEG. A CT scan might not be a bad idea either. Just a thought from a neuro ICU RN. It is worth it to check. Let us know how you are doing.

child therapists comes this thursday to tell you guys the truth i have no idea what im gonna tell them. Lately ive been feeling alot better it doesnt take me long at all to fall asleep so that seems to have gone away for now. If im hanging with friends i can go all day without even remembering i ever felt i was going insane until the night comes and then it comes back even if im with friends though i can usually ignore it. I'll still hear my name being called at times but thats it really just whispering my name. Thought i might wake up during the middle of the night 1 or 2 times and i may see skulls from the corner of my eyes i dont think its anything like schizophrenia

Just following your progress. Let us know what your therapist says. Hearing a voice whisper your name is not a usual occurrence for most people. To me that says something is going on with the chemistry in your brain. Continue to take the steps to find out what is going on. Frequently neuropsychological problems can "come and go" and seem to be gone and flair up again. You are starting the first steps to feeling better. Keep it up. Let us know how you are doing.

well my mom STILL hasnt set up an appointment for the psychiatrist!! But lately the symptoms have appearing less less and now the only things that happen is depersonalization feeling sometimes and messed up vision if im looking at like a rug or wall or anything with a pattern of like squares or something. The only time i hear voices is when im laying down half asleep and most of the time its things of heard throughout the day or people i know saying random things like come here or are you coming nothing else besides that which ive very happy about the other thing bothering me is the fact that when i felt alot worse my grades are slipping and now theres a chance i might get left back which i really dont want because that means ill lose all my friends and i know if that happens it'll come back for sure anyone got some ideas?

Your mom may be in denial about what is happening with you. Parents can have a hard time facing their child being sick. Keep reminding her. Tell her how you feel. I am glad things have calmed down for the time being. Many times these things can start and stop. Does your mom know your are in jeopardy of being held back due to your grades? You and your mom may be able to do some damage control if you can show medical reasons for your inability to do the school work. You may be able to get tutoring through the school and catch up. First, you need to see a psychologist or psychiatrist. You need to find out what is going on. The next step is to find out what provisions the school has for this type of situation. Mental illness is considered a disability. This allows you a certain latitude in school. By law the school can not penalize you due to a mental disorder. They must help you. A school social worker can guide you and your mom through the process.

Please let us know how you are doing. I have thought of you many times over the weeks. You can private message me any time (your mom too). My son has a mental disorder and I know how hard this can be. Take care of yourself, kiddo. Keep us up to date. We are here for you.

alright i know you put this post up a while ago .. but the same things have happened to me that were happening to you .. like i know EXACTLY what you are talking about with every little detail and feeling you have explained ..

i'm 19 and was diagnosed rapid cycling bipolar 1 when i was 15

i was just curious to know your diagnosis because you mentioned racing thoughts which is a classic bipolar sign .. i doubt you are schizophrenic because it occurs later and by what you've explained it sounds more like depression/anxiety/paranoia with extreme mania that involve psychosis .. bipolar disorder most of the time appears around the age of 16 because the depression usually comes first and then a manic episode breaks out .. your manic episode may have just came earlier

-- what were the results that you were diagnosed with?
