Q: Sharp Burning Pain While Eating

Since I was little I would always get this sharp intense pain as soon as I put food in my mouth start to chew my food. Right as it touches my cheek inside my mouth I would get the pain. It's just an intense burning feeling that makes me cringe everytime it happens. It lasts for about 3 seconds and then goes away. The weird thing is, this only happens the first or second time I begin to eat. After that it doesn't happen anymore. It happens on both sides of my faces depending on which side the food goes in. The pain feels like it is in the nerves that originate right in front of my ear. Sometimes I can feel it slightly if I think about it and move my saliva around.

Does anyone know what this could be?

Not sure, but a neurologist can confirm if it's originating from the nerve, or not. It might be worth checking out.

Same
I have the exact same problem, for as long as I can remember every time I begin to eat I get this sharp pain behind/below my ears. It subsides after a few seconds but is really irritating. I have never really looked into it. i.e. asked a doctor or anything, because I thought it was not that serious a problem.

I was just curious did you ever find out the reason for this problem and/or a solution?

Exactly same problem
I have this pain, just below my ear, it looks like my nerve goes up and comes down resulting in a sudden acute pain lasting for 2 seconds. Sometimes, i feel heat also just below my ear.
If i eat something hard (like raw carrot) this symptom get repeated 10 times while eating the whole carrot.
However, with soft food it occurs lesser.

Can somebody suggest should i go to a dentist or a doctor. Money is tight, and it will be disappointing and waste of money if i take one appointment, and realize i have to take another.
