Yeah, my hubby just commented at how much bigger I've gotten in the past couple of days. I can now use my belly as a table top. LOL! Plus my belly is like a rock now (except at the bottom where all my freaking fat is). It's hard underneath the fat though.

Since 37 weeks is "full term"(I was born when my mom was 37 weeks), I'm gonna guess you only have 2 more weeks! You look great and I like your hair, by the way. You will never see my hair!!! Mwahaha!!! Can't wait until I can use my belly like a table!

I'm guessing 2 weeks or less as well. She's like at 0 station as of today and I am 70% effaced. I'm still only 1 cm but I think that thinning out means way more at this point. He said after next Friday that he would no longer stop my labor.

I totally hear you about the weight of the baby!! But of course, I *WANT* an 8/9lb'er!! I'm crazy...I know!!!

Now that it's getting close, have you thought about your method of birthing her??

I'm still wanting to go natural. I'm going to try my hardest to do so. I'm just not too crazy about the risks that go along with the epidural. I know that the risks are rare to happen but it still worries me. My husband's behind me 100%. I don't think he wants me to get the epi either. I'm going to try to labor the beginning part at home as long as possible. I've already gone in with contractions so many times that I think I can handle that part. I'm planning on waiting until I just can't handle it anymore or until my water breaks before going in. I don't want to have to lay in that bed forever. Question-Do you still have to have a catheter even if you don't get an epi? I so don't want one. I don't mind the IV for just in case something happens but you know. I also don't want an epesiotomy unless the baby is in distress and needs out quicker than I can do on my own. I'm scared to death of that. I can't believe that it's almost time for her to be here. She literally could be here anytime according to my dcotor. I wonder how much longer until I completely thinned out. I'm 70% now.

We don't have any birthing centers around here. I also wanted to use my doctor so I would have been stuck with a hospital anyways. There's always insurance issues too.

most insurances cover birthing centers but it sucks there arent any around you. have you seen the hospital rooms? some have tubs and lots of room for laboring with the birthing ball and stuff so you arent stuck in the bed. you should also be able to walk around the floor

Yeah, I've been to L&D like 5 times now having contractions stopped so I've been a personal guest of the floor. I probably will be stuck in the bed though because my husband's whole family thinks they need to be in there during the laboring part and I don't feel like everyone seeing my backside while they're in there. I'm hoping I go in to labor while his parents are out of town because then it won't be a problem.

One thing I can say is def don't wait until your water breaks to leave (if you're having contractions regularly). Mine didn't break until I was about 8cm when the nurse was checking me.

I refused EVERYTHING. IV, Epidural, Episiotomy, everything. The hospital can't force you to do anything you're not comfortable with.

I look at it as, the more intervention, the more complications. Like if they give you an IV, you'll wind up needing your water broken, then you'll end up with an epi, and then a section. I know that that's not always the case, but that's how I looked at it.

As far as your family thinking they NEED to be in the room, I guarentee they'll respect your wish to have them leave.

I, personally didn't care WHO was in the room, or who saw my who ha. I was in a trance. birthing mode! lol!!

You can PM me if you have any more in depth questions about going drug/intervention free!

It's good to have some people that have gone drug free on my side. Every nurse I have had so far has tried to talk me in to the epidural like it's a God send. I understand that some people love it but I just don't like the risks that go along with it. I want to be able to walk after my baby's born and really bond with her. My body is meant to do this so I believe that if I really put my mind to it that I can handle it.

As far as my husband's parents go, I said something about not calling everyone until after I got settled in at L&D because I wanted it to be a bonding experience between my husband and I. She totally got livid and said that I did not have a choice in the matter. Well, that didn't go over well with me. I told her that I guess I did have a choice. This is my labor and delivery and I can choose to do it however I wish. His parents are just wierd. My parents however totally understand because my mom felt the same way. I'm a tad bit modest around family. It doesn't bother me having nurses and doctors seeing me but family just seems so awkward to me.
