My mother has been suffering from chronic sinusitis for the past 10 years or so. This is more or less continuous chronic sinusitis not frequent acute infection.

She underwent the fess surgery about 3 years ago. Although there is some improvement in her condition she still has chronic headaches and acute episodes every two months or so. And these episode are really severe, making her bed ridden.

She has consulted more than a dozen doctors in the past 2 years. They prescribe the usual antibiotics and nasal spray, but there is only short-term relief.

She has followed all the usual procedures - antibiotics, nasal sprays, humidifiers, drinking water.

What i need to know is how common such acute cases of chronic sinusitis are...and is there any thing we are missing out..has anybody come across such cases...??/

P.S: She did a culture and the infection is not fungal. Just though i must add that.
